The A-Frame Bunkhouse by Zook Cabins is a 400-square-foot park model that immediately stands out thanks to its dramatic A-frame roofline and nearly full wall of windows.

Measuring approximately 13'8" wide by 31' long, the cabin has a much wider footprint than a traditional tiny house on wheels. Inside, Zook fits a king-size sleeping area, separate bunk room, living room, kitchenette, full bathroom, and plenty of storage—all on one level.

But it's that glass-filled A-frame living room that really makes this model memorable.

🪟 A-Frame Living Room

The centerpiece of this cabin is easily the A-frame living space at the front of the home.

Floor-to-ceiling windows follow the roofline, filling the interior with natural light and creating an incredible opportunity to frame the surrounding scenery. We toured this model at Zook Cabins' display village in Pennsylvania, but it's easy to imagine those windows overlooking the mountains, woods, or even a coastal property.

There's enough room underneath for a full-size couch, coffee table, and small entertainment center, making this feel like a proper living room rather than simply a sitting area.

🛏️ King-Size Sleeping Area & Storage

The main sleeping area occupies the opposite side of the open floor plan and was staged with a king-size bed.

Nearby closets provide hanging space, luggage storage, and room for everyday belongings, while one also houses the water heater. The open bedroom arrangement makes sense for a vacation cabin, keeping the interior bright and spacious without adding unnecessary walls.

🍳 Compact Kitchenette

Between the living and sleeping areas is a compact but thoughtfully designed kitchenette.

It includes an apartment-size refrigerator, two-burner induction cooktop, microwave, black sink, and plenty of cabinetry. Deep soft-close drawers provide room for cookware and utensils, while floating shelves and cabinetry extending above the refrigerator make use of otherwise wasted vertical space.

The wood backsplash and black fixtures also complement the cabin's warm, modern-rustic interior.

🛌 Separate Bunk Room

The feature that gives the A-Frame Bunkhouse its name is a dedicated bunk room with two twin beds.

Built-in shelving provides space for books, games, and personal belongings, while the upper bunk includes a sturdy guardrail. For families using the cabin as a weekend getaway or vacation rental, this allows kids—or even two additional adults—to have their own sleeping area.

🚿 Full Bathroom

Despite the compact footprint, the bathroom feels surprisingly conventional.

There's a vanity with storage, sink, mirror, traditional flushing toilet, and fiberglass shower. Like Zook's other park model cabins, this home is designed to connect to standard sewer or septic utilities rather than relying on an RV-style or composting toilet setup.

✨ Final Thoughts

At around 400 square feet, the A-Frame Bunkhouse feels particularly well suited to a vacation property or short-term rental.

The combination of a king-size sleeping area and separate bunk room makes it practical for families, while the kitchenette and full bathroom provide everything needed for a comfortable weekend stay.

But ultimately, we'd choose this model for the architecture. Place that A-frame wall of windows in front of the right view, and the relatively simple 400-square-foot cabin could become a pretty incredible little retreat.
