We had the opportunity to stay here ourselves, and it quickly became one of our favorite cabins in Europe. The layout is simple, thoughtful, and incredibly livable, while the panoramic mountain views make every room feel connected to nature. Whether you're hiking through Tatra National Park, skiing in the winter, or simply looking for a peaceful escape, this cabin is an unforgettable home base.

One of the biggest reasons to stay here isn't just the cabin—it's where it's located.
HONAY HOUSE sits on a quiet hillside away from the busy resort towns of the Podhale region, offering a much more peaceful experience while still providing easy access to Tatra National Park and countless hiking trails. Instead of traffic and crowds, you'll wake up to birdsong, fresh mountain air, and sweeping views of one of Europe's most beautiful mountain ranges.
The owners intentionally created a place where guests could disconnect from everyday life. In fact, there isn't even a television in the cabin because, as they put it, "the windows perform its function." After spending a few days here, it's hard to disagree.
🛋️ Living Room
The heart of the cabin is the bright, open living room.
A comfortable sofa sits directly in front of an oversized picture window that perfectly frames the High Tatras. Rather than making the television the focal point, every piece of furniture is oriented toward the mountains, constantly reminding you why you came.
The high ceiling and warm wood finishes make the space feel open yet cozy, while carefully selected furniture and soft textiles add to the cabin's relaxing atmosphere. It's equally enjoyable on a sunny summer morning or during a snowy winter evening with a cup of coffee in hand.
🍳 Kitchen
The kitchen continues the home's minimalist philosophy while providing everything needed for longer stays.
It features a two-burner induction cooktop, apartment-size refrigerator, dishwasher, coffee maker, and even a washer/dryer combo, making it much more practical than many vacation rentals. Thoughtfully designed cabinetry provides plenty of storage, while quality cookware and utensils make it easy to prepare meals after a day exploring the mountains.
A dining table nearby offers the perfect place to enjoy breakfast while watching the morning light illuminate the surrounding peaks.
🛏️ Bedroom
Upstairs, the open mezzanine bedroom feels surprisingly spacious.
A comfortable king-size mattress (180 cm) anchors the room, while a built-in desk creates a quiet place to work or journal with views toward the mountains. Along one wall, an oversized wardrobe provides far more storage than you typically find in cabins of this size, making longer stays much more comfortable.
For guests traveling with a child, there's also space for an optional floor mattress without making the loft feel crowded.
The combination of warm wood, natural light, and soft textiles creates a bedroom that's both simple and incredibly inviting.

The bathroom is compact but beautifully finished, continuing the home's clean Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic.
