Tucked away beneath a canopy of pecan trees, this beautiful 360-sqft tiny house in East Austin is the perfect blend of modern design, comfort, and function. Located in a quiet backyard, this standalone ADU (accessory dwelling unit) feels like a peaceful retreat—while still being within walking distance of some of Austin’s best coffee shops, restaurants, and nightlife.
We recently had the chance to stay here during a short trip to Austin, and we were blown away by how livable and cozy this tiny space was. With its single-level layout, clean aesthetic, and thoughtful features, this backyard studio makes an ideal home base for solo travelers or couples exploring the city. Watch a full walkthrough video at the end!
Bright & Airy Living Space
The moment you step inside, you’re greeted by a light-filled, open-concept space. High ceilings and expansive windows make the home feel much larger than its square footage. Pops of color, modern furniture, and a minimalist aesthetic give it a warm and inviting feel. The 55" 4K Smart TV is mounted on a swivel arm, so you can relax on the couch or watch from bed—perfect for winding down after a day exploring Austin.
Simple Kitchenette for Light Cooking
The kitchenette includes an 1800w hotplate, a mini fridge, cookware, utensils, and a dining table with two chairs. It’s the ideal setup for making breakfast, a quick lunch, or a simple dinner. There’s no oven, but you’ll find everything you need to prepare meals during a short stay.
Comfortable Sleeping Area
A plush queen-sized foam mattress and high-quality linens make the sleeping space incredibly comfortable. While it’s a studio layout, the design still offers separation between the sleeping and living zones, making the space feel cozy and functional. The couch can also be converted into a sofabed to sleep a 3rd guest.
Functional Bathroom + Closet Storage
The bathroom is surprisingly spacious for a studio, with a tile shower and tub combo and beautiful natural light. A walk-in closet provides excellent storage space—complete with hangers, a luggage rack, and an iron/ironing board. For such a small home, storage is thoughtfully integrated without cluttering the design.
Private Outdoor Oasis
One of the highlights of this ADU is the private patio. Outfitted with a cozy outdoor couch, string lights, and surrounded by mature trees, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or an alfresco dinner. The backyard space is surprisingly large for a tiny house—and a rare find in the heart of the city.
Perfect for a Weekend in Austin
With blazing fast Wi-Fi (over 400 Mbps), a peaceful location, and easy access to East Austin’s best offerings, this studio tiny house is a dream stay for 1–2 people. Whether you're visiting for work or play, it offers the perfect mix of convenience, comfort, and clever design.
Would you live in a modern tiny house with this kind of outdoor space and walkability? We totally would.
