Tucked away in a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac just outside of Asheville, North Carolina, this 324-sqft garage apartment offers the perfect mix of comfort, style, and convenience. Located only 20 minutes from downtown Asheville and minutes from the Pisgah National Forest, it’s an ideal home base for hiking, exploring breweries, or simply unwinding in a cozy space. Short walkthrough video & booking link at the end!
During my stay with my pup, Jasper, we found it to be the perfect little retreat—beautifully designed, well-stocked with everything you might need, and full of thoughtful touches. From the comfortable living room to the full kitchen with modern appliances, the private bedroom, and the outdoor deck surrounded by trees, it’s a place that feels instantly like home.
It also served as our launching pad for one of the most scenic experiences of our trip: hiking the Black Balsam Knob trail in the Pisgah National Forest for an unforgettable sunset.
The living room is one of the highlights of this garage apartment. A comfortable leather sofa anchors the space, with large windows that fill the room with natural light. The vaulted ceilings make the compact floor plan feel airy and open, while a whisper-quiet ceiling fan keeps the air fresh.
It’s the perfect spot to curl up with a book, stream your favorite shows on the Smart TV, or simply relax after a day of exploring Asheville. The tasteful decor and area rug add warmth without cluttering the space, creating a relaxing retreat vibe.
For a tiny home, this kitchen is impressively spacious and functional. You’ll find full-size appliances—including a refrigerator, oven, stovetop, and microwave—along with plenty of counter space for meal prep.
Whether you’re brewing your morning coffee in the French press, reheating leftovers from a local cafe, or making a hearty dinner, the kitchen has everything you need. The hosts even include dog food and water bowls, which made traveling with Jasper much easier.
The private bedroom features a cozy queen-size bed with plush bedding and pillows for a restful night’s sleep. While space is tight, the room still feels comfortable and relaxing thanks to soft lighting and tasteful artwork.
One note: there’s no large closet, so pack light or use your suitcase for clothing storage. Still, the comfort of the bed more than makes up for the lack of storage.
The bathroom is bright, sparkling clean, and surprisingly roomy for a tiny home. It features a custom-tiled shower with glass doors, a modern vanity, and plenty of counter space for toiletries. The hosts stock shampoo, conditioner, and body wash so you don’t have to worry about bringing your own.
Having a stackable washer and dryer right in the apartment made it easy to pack lighter and keep our hiking clothes fresh. This is a rare bonus in many short-term rentals and especially convenient if you’re staying for more than a couple of nights.
The private deck is the perfect morning coffee spot, with two lounge chairs overlooking a quiet side yard and wooded backdrop. We enjoyed sitting outside in the crisp mountain air before heading out for the day.
The property is tucked away enough to feel peaceful and secluded, yet still close to all the attractions Asheville has to offer.
This 324-sqft garage apartment is proof that a small space can feel luxurious and practical at the same time. Between the thoughtful layout, modern finishes, and close proximity to outdoor adventures, it’s an excellent choice for couples, solo travelers, or anyone looking to explore Asheville while enjoying the comforts of home.
For us, it was the perfect combination—quiet mornings on the deck, cozy evenings in the living room, and stunning mountain sunsets just a short drive away. Jasper gives it two paws up!
