This large, beautiful house built by Artistree Treehouse is built on old lava bed formations and sits at the base of a still very active volcano, Mauna Lao—known to be the largest volcano in the world!
This rustic 450-square-foot tiny home was built almost entirely from reclaimed materials and is completely off-grid—solar-powered and utilizing rainwater for utilities. The home features a large open floor plan on the first floor, including a mid-size kitchen, a living room area, and a bathroom. The loft features a comfy bedroom with 270-degree views of the lava formations surrounding the base of the volcano!
The home is also available for rent on Airbnb for $125/night!

My name is Alan—founder at Dream Big Live Tiny Co! A few years ago, I quit my consulting job to pursue a life full of adventure. After traveling around the world for a year, I sold most of my stuff and moved into an 160-sqft tiny house. Now I spend most of my time showcasing incredible people living with less in pursuit of more freedom, as well as incredible tiny houses around the world!
