At just 400 square feet, the Rancher Loft by Lancaster Cabins manages to fit two private bedrooms, a full bathroom, kitchen, dining area, spacious living room, and a large bonus sleeping loft into its 13' x 31' footprint.
Built in Pennsylvania using plenty of natural wood throughout, this park model log cabin feels noticeably wider than many tiny homes on wheels. The extra width makes a big difference inside, especially through the main living area, while the multiple sleeping spaces make the Rancher particularly well suited as a family vacation cabin or weekend getaway.

Living Room 🛋️
The front living room immediately shows off the benefit of the cabin's 13-foot width. There is enough space for a three-person custom futon along with room for a coffee table without making the walkway feel cramped.
The futon can also convert into an additional bed when needed, adding yet another occasional sleeping space to the cabin.
Kitchen & Dining Area 🍳
Next to the living room is a compact but functional kitchen with an apartment-size refrigerator, electric range and oven, microwave, sink, and plenty of locally made cabinetry.
Counter space is somewhat limited, but there is a surprising amount of kitchen storage for a cabin primarily designed around recreational use.
Across from the kitchen, a custom live-edge dining table includes a bench and stools with seating for four.
Main Bedroom 🛏️
The larger of the two private bedrooms currently holds a queen-size bed, although the room is wide enough that a king bed could also work with some furniture rearrangement.
A skylight and windows bring plenty of natural light into the space. Storage includes a custom dresser, a small hanging area, and a bench, with enough additional floor space to potentially build out a larger closet.
Second Bedroom 🛌
The second bedroom is smaller but still completely private and includes a full-size bed and window.
There's also enough room beside the bed for a small side table or even a compact workspace. For a couple living here longer term, this room could easily become a dedicated home office instead.
Bathroom 🚿
The bathroom is where much of Lancaster Cabins' custom craftsmanship stands out. Rustic details include a custom wood door and handle, handmade medicine cabinet, towel racks, and other wood accessories.
A fiberglass shower keeps things relatively simple and low-maintenance, while a traditional flushing toilet and vanity complete the space.
Bonus Sleeping Loft ✨
Above the main floor is a large loft with two additional full-size beds in the model we toured. It could work particularly well as a kids' sleeping area, giving families multiple separate places to sleep without sacrificing the main living room.
For full-time use by one or two people, part of the loft could instead become valuable seasonal or long-term storage while still leaving space for an occasional guest bed.
With two bedrooms downstairs and this flexible loft overhead, the Rancher packs an impressive amount of usable space into its 400-square-foot footprint.
Final Thoughts
The Rancher Loft feels especially well suited as a weekend or vacation cabin for a couple or small family. With two private bedrooms, a bonus loft, and a convertible futon, there are plenty of sleeping options, although the single bathroom would probably make the home feel crowded with a larger group for an extended stay.
For one or two people, though, the layout could also work surprisingly well for full-time living. We could easily see the larger bedroom remaining the primary bedroom, the second bedroom becoming a dedicated office, and part of the loft being used for guests and additional storage.
What stands out most is how spacious the cabin feels for 400 square feet. The 13-foot width, skylights, natural woodwork, and locally crafted cabinetry and furniture give it much more of a traditional cabin feel than a typical park model.
