In a world full of an increasing number of amazing and jaw-dropping tiny homes with great design, you assume that you have seen it all. How could you not?
The rooftop decks, the beneath-the-floor storage, the hidden washer/dryer combo. The list goes on.
But, not this time. And we were very pleasantly surprised to say the least.
Introducing Aurora—one of the most cleverly-designed tiny homes we have EVER seen, built by ZeroSquared based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada!
Designed from the ground up with long-term livability in mind, Aurora is one of the first tiny houses to have opposing expanding rooms. The built-in motorized slide outs create an extra 100 square feet of living space, expanding the home to a comfortable 374 square feet on the main floor, while keeping the length at a manageable 26 feet. The expanding rooms can be collapsed to allow for safe and legal transport.
Besides the amazing curb appeal that this tiny home sports on the outside, the interior is what really makes it special.
Upon entering Aurora, you will find the dining room and kitchen directly ahead. The kitchen is the heart of the home, and Aurora was creatively designed to give you enough room to cook meals for a large family and even have enough space to share a meal.
The kitchen features full-size cabinets above and below for plenty of storage, solid oak or birch counter tops, a full-size 30" stainless steel fridge, a stainless range with cooktop, and much more. The dining room features an expandable table that can sit up to 5 people and can double as a work space.
Adjacent to the dining area is the bedroom and office space, with a privacy wall to separate the space from the living room. With a ground level bedroom, say goodbye to climbing down a ladder in the middle of the night!
The bedroom features a queen-size murphy bed that when folded up turns into an office, entertainment area, or whatever your needs may be. The bedroom/office space also provides a closet, access to a storage loft, and cabinets above for additional storage.
The bathroom is right next door to the bedroom, featuring a full-size toilet, a residential 32" x 48" shower, a large vanity, and a pocket door for privacy.
Last but not least, the living room features a large, versatile space that can be used for entertaining or unwinding after a long day. The space can accommodate a large couch and a flat screen TV, or you could set it up differently to suit your needs.
All in all, this is one of our favorite designs that we have seen. ZeroSquared has definitely put design and comfort at the forefront in building the Aurora. The units are also CSA and RVIA certified, allowing for an easier process when it comes to securing financing and insurance. Please contact them here if you have any questions regarding the Aurora!
